Now we are seven!

This week KAST Architects is seven years old and while the last 12 months have been no walk in the park, it was a hell of a lot smoother than 2020!

We have seen a number of projects completed this year, with another primary school signed off for Leicestershire County Council and a headquarters office handed over in west Cornwall. Meanwhile we have finished three houses for local families, including a barn conversion near Stithians, an extensive house refurbishment on Restronguet Creek and a new build home near Wadebridge.

On site we have a 400m2 contemporary dwelling in an AONB overlooking the Helford River, an oak framed house within a walled garden on a country estate, a new build house overlooking the River Exe, a barn renovation near Porthcothan and the last few homes on a 9 unit development on the north coast.

On the drawing board are a further 15 new houses, a 12 unit affordable housing scheme, a 45 unit mixed use town centre redevelopment, a sports and community pavilion for a local town and a low carbon school for our friends in the Midlands.

We were delighted to be featured in Enki Magazine as their architectural practice of the month, while our Fairfield Barn project appeared in Self Build and Design magazine. Meanwhile, Milk Moon Barn was featured in an 11 page spread in Grand Designs Magazine and appeared on the cover of Build It magazine. It has just been shortlisted for Build It’s Renovation Project of the Year award.

David is now a Director of KAST and he recently became a Certified Passivhaus Designer. Meanwhile fellow Director Adam, along with Jess, Alex, Tim and Joe are all contributing enormously to the success of the practice and continue to push us forward.

Thank you as always to our clients, consultants and contractors for their passion and belief. Roll on 2022…
