Kast Architects marks its third birthday this week. Following the success of our first two years, we have built on our growing reputation to design and deliver a number of spectacular buildings across a variety of sectors.
We completed our second primary school, handed over our first bespoke private house and secured planning approval on a gin distillery and two more spectacular houses – one in Mawgan Porth overlooking the beach and the other in a rural setting in central Cornwall.
Our house at Sea Edge in Downderry, completed in February, has been featured in the Architects Journal, Grand Designs Magazine and Built It Magazine. It was also shortlisted for the best architect designed house in the UK – an achievement we are incredibly proud of given that it was our first ever commission. The house has been shortlisted for a further national award and will be featured in two more magazines before the end of the year.
On the drawing board at the moment are five new houses and two new headquarter offices, while we are also on site with a dramatic new dwelling in Feock and a housing scheme in North Cornwall. We have been selected to join a team of architects working on a low environmental impact housing scheme on the edge of Truro, with design work to start at the end of the year.
Most importantly, we have been careful to ensure the professional development of our staff and recognising their invaluable input. Adam is now a Director of Kast Architects, while David is well on his way to becoming fully qualified. Our Part 1 students, Jakob and Tim, have both contributed enormously to the success of the practice and continue to push us forward.
As always, thank you to everyone for your support and best wishes.
Here’s to many more years to come!
