Low carbon primary school submitted for planning

We have just submitted a planning application for this low carbon primary school in Leicestershire.

With the climate crisis looming it is essential that we take action now, even more so when building schools for our children.

We have focussed on reducing embodied carbon by carefully selecting materials and building a modest structure in solid timber. Operational carbon is reduced by designing a very efficient building fabric, supplemented with heat pumps and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery.

Exposed internal timber surfaces, excellent ventilation and soundproofing all help to create the healthiest teaching and learning environment possible for the staff and pupils.
