The proposal is for the extension to a Grade II Listed Building in the village of Cocks near Perranporth. The existing cottage has been sensitively restored by the existing owners and they now require additional accommodation for their growing young family.


On the ground floor, the plan is extended to create a kitchen and dining area to the rear of the property, while to the front an additional living room provides extra space. On the upper floor, a new master bedroom with ensuite is tucked beneath the roof.


The new element will be built from a timber frame and clad in locally sourced cedar which will be allowed to weather naturally to a silver-grey. The proportions of the windows have taken their cue from the existing cottage, along with a careful composition of solid and void.
