Heartlands Office

client: Ecosse Regeneration

value: £4.5m

location: West Lothian, Scotland

The proposed headquarters building at Heartlands business park, is a 2,400m2 office, configured to be let as a whole, or sub-let as separate units, will provide a unique landmark building for the new Heartlands development.

Using passive design features, the proposed design will maximise natural ventilation and natural daylight to ensure user-comfort without the need for air-conditioning. The amount of artificial lighting required and consequently the electricity costs and CO2 emissions associated with this, will also be reduced. Timber, which forms the major element of the construction material, has the lowest embodied energy of any building material. All timber in the proposed building will come from sustainably managed forests and will be sourced locally.
