location: Carnkie, Cornwall
This sensitive barn restoration and extension in mid Cornwall has been designed to ensure a clear distinction between old and new is maintained. The solid granite walls of the two barns define the main spaces, with an open plan kitchen and dining space open to the roof, and a number of smaller bedroom and bathroom spaces occupying the two storey section. An extension housing the living space faces south west onto the garden.
New additions are detailed in timber, allowing the full history of the building to be clearly legible.
Planning approval has been granted and the technical design is now underway with a start on site likely in Spring 2019.
