Bunkers Hill

Client: Private client

Value: Undisclosed

Location: St Buryan, Cornwall

Bunkers Hill is a conversion and extension of a traditional Cornish granite cow-barn into a four bedroom family home for a young couple from Devon.

We were approached to work closely with the client in working up preliminary designs to secure planning approval in this stunningly beautiful area of West Penwith.

The barn is part of a farm complex and inspiration has been drawn from the surrounding local materials, with a paired back aesthetic. The design has a strong environmental focus whilst responding to the exposed nature of the site and rugged context. The client was keen to employ local skills, knowledge, materials and labour in the construction of their new home.
